Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Super Sunny
Mood: Even more excited than yesterday

What a bright, bright, sunshiny daaay! I've taken my sweet time posting today's blog because I had to go out before the weather changed to photograph my car (which I'm selling...) But the stupid battery  on the camera decided to die on me so TG for BBs. Anyway, I'm in a bright mood despite mi slightly gothic outfit, it wasn't supposed to turn out that way when I got dressed this morning but i wanted something bright and peppy! So i was going to wear my red v-neck with jeans but then I thought, oh what the hell, i always wear jeans and then if I go to the gym later all I have to do is change my boots for trainers and pull off my dress and I'm all set... Very smart of me, I know. ;) Anyway, I better have lunch and get reading if I'm going to get all my work done in time for my bf's soccer match this evening! ta-taaa -Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy
Mood: Colorful, despite the weather

I'm just really glad I washed my car yesterday. It's not exactly raining, but it is pretty cold and cloudy. Despite that, I'm in a really cute mood, if that makes sense, so I'm wearing my grey Tommy Hilfiger dress with a pink sweater underneath so I don't freeze to death, pink tights and my grey boots. I still have a lot to do today... stuff which include going to the gym and running errands. Still, it's fine, I need to get out of the house from time to time or it might just drive me up the walls. I also need an outfit which is warm as well as confortable 'cos I have to queue for a while so high heels are not a good idea today. Besides, flat boots are really cute and comfy. For now, however, it's left over pizza from last night and a coke and then I'm off to do all I have to do before it rains, because I really, really don't want to get wet. -Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Sunny
Mood: Excited

Good morning bloggers and please excuse my absence the last few days. If I'm going to be quite honest, I needed a break. Even fashion blogging can be exhausting and get to you sometimes, you know... Point is, I'm back and it's a wonderful, sunny day and I have a lot to do today. Today is one of those days when you realize you’ve grown up and you have to go out and face the world, if you know what I mean. For starters I have to go to the bank to talk business so I can't exactly go wearing an overall and pigtails, they'll think I'm 9 and won't take me seriously. On the other hand, I don't want to look dressed up for the occasion, I don't want them to perceive be as an over doer, which I'm not. So, I've picked out a nice round neck top with blue jeggins and my beige suede boots. Paired it up with my taupe handbag and a beige cardigan and a very subtle touch, a small pearl necklace, you know, just to portray a few more years (I look 12, trust me.) So, wish me luck and let’s hope I can get everything done and wash my car before the weather changes its mind and hides my beautiful sunny day! –Rx.

Sunday Special - The Plain White T

All of you have had a day when you open your wardrobe and no matter how full of endless possibilities it might be, you simply can't find anything to wear. And no matter how color coordinated your wardrobe is and how important it is for you to have it all under specific categories so this doesn't happen (going out clothes, sunday clothes, gym clothes, etc) but it does happen! And it drives you crazy to not like anything of all those clothes you once found so irrisitable to buy but now you're just not in the mood. You know what I mean, right? And the wierd thing is no matter how much you have to chose from you'll aways end up in your safe zone with your favorite pair of old, worn-out jeans and your wardrobe essential, your plain white T. It might happen because all the posibilities confuse us... It might be because the weather doesn't match your mood and your just not ready to go out looking like an eskimo when you woke up feeling California sexy... It might just be because you just don't feel like it, no questions asked, but your plain white T will promise to be there always, combine white anything you pull out of your wardrobe and be your best friend for ever.  Therefore, it is a must have in every wardrobe, men and women, in a variety of shapes and styles to match your every need.

So think of your white tee as a blank canvas: you can dress it up or dress it down accordingly and it doesn't even have to be designer. Any white tee will do the trick! There are several types of white t-shirts to chose from, each with different styles and for different occasions.

The V-Neck:

Combine it with a pair of jeans and trainers and you're ready to go to the supermarket. Wear it with leggings and hit the gym. Pair it up with a skirt and a nice cardigan and you'll look great for an afternoon with your friends or a night at the movies. Wear any accesory you like from a long strand of colorful necklaces to a colorful pashmina to brighten it up a little. On top you can wear a hoodie, a jacket, a vest or a cardi and they'll all allow you to mix and match to endless posibilities.

The Scoop Neck:

If you're looking for a slightly softer look, you might want to go for the scoop neck white tee instead of the v-neck. The too are very fashionable and slightly more dressy than a v-neck- a more chic vs. casual look. However, you might want to be careful if you have very broad sholders because the scoop neck will atract all of the atention to the top of your body while the v-neck gives the effect of a linger, slimer figure.

The Long Sleeve:

Long sleeve white tees are ideal for colder weather. Also, it's a great companion to wear with shorts. You've probably noticed how the cute girl of your fav TV show looks really casual but sexy in shorts and a long sleeve top. That's because it is sexy. And besides, when you get cold you usually rub your arms, not your legs right? When it's chilly you notice it more on your upper body, so if you fell like showing off your tanned, shaved legs you can wear a long sleeve plain white tee that won't draw too much attention to your upper body and a lot of attention to your legs. Besides, there's nothing sexy about arms anyway; totally overrated...

The Polo Neck:

If you'r planning a day at the country club or in the country, an excellent choice is a white polo shirt combined with jeand and knee high boots. You'll soon come to realize the whole polo player outfit is very sexy while making you look smart and dressy. Wear an open, oversized cardigan over it and your hair up for extra "sexy, laid back polo player" effect.

The Asimetric Shaped Tee:

Sometimes it's fun to look a little different without overdoing it and what's funner than an irregular shaped tee? It's true it can be any color but some people don't like to overdo it. Asimetric white t's are great if you want to combine it with a bright colored tank underneath. In that way part of the tank is showing through the transparecy only a white T can offer while another part of the tank can stick out and just shine through. Wear a belt over it for an extra touch of style.

Here are some celebs wearing their fav plain white T to give you some extra ideas of how to mix and match! I hope you've enjoyed reading this and next time you don't know what to wear, don't underestimate your plain white T!

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy
Mood: Excited

I love surprises (but HATE surprise parties - when they're for me, I love participating in them for other people-). And today I have a huge surprise planned that no one can even start to imagine! It's so exciting! :D I can now tell you since it will be happening any time this hour: my mum's at lunch with all her old buddies from work (old as in from a long time ago, not that they're old) and she has no idea I popped around this morning and left a cake for her so after lunch they'll sing her happy birthday!!! And she has no clue! It's so exciting! :D Anyway, I hope she finds i as fun as me and doesn't disinherit me or anything... Anyway, tonight I have a really cool plan at my bf’s mate’s house ‘cos he’s decided to start his own garage beer and we’re all invited for a round of beer and yummy food so I’m really looking forward to that. Besides, it’s the perfect occasion to look pretty and dress up a bit, so I’m wearing my new red leather skirt which my mum brought for me from Argentina and that I haven’t actually had a chance to wear, yet, and a black turtleneck sweater and my knee high boots. I’ve even done my nails and everything for the occasion. I’m just one of those people who firmly believe you should dress up every occasion you have. If you don’t, then you might as well just stay at home in your pjs. I mean what’s the point of wearing cute clothes if you’re not going to wear them after? And besides, if you’re a little overdressed is so much better than if you’re a little underdressed. For starters, it makes a huge difference in the way you feel, and besides, it’s not like if you’re going to wear a ball gown to a friend’s BBQ, right? Dressing up makes me feel pretty, and feeling pretty makes me happy. And when I’m happy, all is well in the world. For now, I’ve just had lunch and I’m in serious need of a nap. I can get changed into my beautiful beer-tasting, food-flavoring later… ta-taaa –Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: ClOuDy
Mood: love your enemies, it pisses them off... hehehe

Excuse the mood, there's just this silly girl that goes to my gym that really pisses me off. She's like the gym's equivalent to teacher's pet and God I hated teacher's pets... Anyway, let's not talk about morons, let's talk macramé. When I think macramé I think the peanut butter of fashion. It can be chunky and quite deceiving, and like marmite, either you love it, or you hate it. For those unfamiliar with the term, macramé is a form of textile that looks like knitting but made purely with knots. Anyway, macramé is hot this month, or at least that’s what’s on Vogue, and dear readers, Vogue is the Bible of fashion. You've probably seen it in bracelets or belts but this spring designers decided to go the extra mile and make beautiful macramé garments. Because it often involves leaving big gaps between weaves, it is often a great companion for beach wear and bikinis. Did you know 19th century sailor’s use to dedicate to do all sorts of macramé objects in their spare time? Pretty neat if you ask me. Anyway, it’s also pretty neat to compliment macramé with sailor-type garments. For example, get yourself a nude macramé skirt and pair it up with a blue and white tank top and a pair of red sandals and you can hit the sails of that cute guy’s yacht. Then will you be honoring the 19th century seamen while looking very chic and sexy – what a fab. combination. If you want more ideas on ways to combine macramé (in case, like me, you live in a very cold climate) check out designer’s collections such as Dior and Gucci 2011. Jen Kao,  and Malandrino are also great designers with beautiful macramé proposals. Today I’m going to combine my own touch of macramé with a brown artisanal belt I bought in San Francisco (really cute) and a new purple cardigan I bought in Zara the other day and YES! my purple $5 dollar flats! The cardi’s really cute ‘cos it’s got small, brown, elbow patches that match my belt and give it a very distinct look. You know what? I use to hate purple, but right now, I really love it! I wonder if I’ll ever feel that way about orange? … NAAAAH!!! –Rx.

PS: Btw, you've all probaly once had a (or a few) macramé bracelet(s)... Yes you have... You've even made one yourself. Remember how you used to ask your mum to buy you threads to make bracelets for all your friends? That's macramé!!!

Location: Bogota, Colombia

Weather: Sadly enough, pretty cloudy
Mood: Couldn't be happier

REASONS TO BE HAPPY:
1. It’s my mum's birthday
2. She totally loved her presies! (Who doesn't love Carolina Herrera, right?)
3. We're going out for lunch to this fab. new restaurant
4. The restaurant is next to my bf's office so he's joining us for lunch
5. I'm wearing a brand new fuchsia skirt my mum bought for me yesterday
6. My new skirt looks so cute on me!
7. Mum's happy too!

What a great way to start the day. Since I was a little girl, I use to get up really early on my mum's birthday so I could surprise her when she woke up with not very well wrapped up, homemade presents and a big card I had made myself. Well, I don't do the presents or the card any more (that's why VISA was invented) but I do still wake her up with presents and a card and breakfast and a great big kiss. I love to see her smile as she opens her gifts, it just gives me a thrill to see her so happy. Yesterday was her art class, so I went to the mall purely for financial reasons because I had to stop by the bank to pay off my credit card and by the time I came out it was almost time to pick up mum from her class, so I walked around the mall, just window shopping (and bought nothing except for a caramel latte) but when I went into Zara (which btw is still ridiculously overpriced) I saw a gorgeous pink pencil skirt and a beautiful pink blazer to wear with jeans. Problem was, being over prized and all, I could only buy one. So ended up buying neither because what I really needed at a time like that one was my mother's advice (even a fashionista need advice from time to time!) SO after lunch I went back with my mum and she offered to buy me the skirt if I bought the blazer and I did and she did (she's a sweetheart) and now I'm wearing my pink skirt in honor of her big day! Paired it up with my black knee-high suede boots, a white, short sleeve shirt from Mango and a black cardigan and I’m all set to start celebrating. And guess what? The sun’s coming out and everything! What a pretty day… J -Rx.
