August 31, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy and cold
Mood: Bored with my hair "issue"

Another month come and gone... God time flies when you're having fun. And when you're not... They say it's an age issue, that the older you get, the faster time just swoops by... Which is crazy because I'm only... Well, I'm in my 20s. In the golden years, right? And still, I feel Christmas was like last week and before you know it, hey! It's Christmas, again, and again... and again? Anyway, I hadn't really psted my blog today because I was fairly more occupied with prior duties such as studying. That's right. Vacas over and I'm hitting the books, not literally (I'll break my hand...) yOU KNOW, i'VE BEEN REALLY DISTRACTED TODAY... excuse the block letter... I'm dazed off into a faraway land in my mind, like a swurling spirral which I have fallen into and has tranced me... permenantly.... -Rx.

August 30, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: SUNNY!
Mood: Annoyed yet very, very happy!

Yes! My fashion Bible is finally here! Tumbling yesterday out of the dark clouds of recession, unemployment and austerity came that gleaming almanac of glamour and self-indulgence, the September Issue of Vogue. I got my hands on the most important issue of the year - the fattest, the most profitable, the most influential - the fashion Bible. The most immediately striking thing about it is its opulence, page upon glossy page of advertisements for every expensive fashion house or jeweler you have ever heard of - so many that at least 100 pages go by before you arrive at the first bit of editorial copy. Luxury can be especially seductive in times like these, but Vogue, charmingly, has attempted to show sensitivity to the country's penitential mood. The trend this year is to be "minimal chic" - nothing fancy, just plain, clean-cut clothes full of understated elegance.  There is a new taste for old-fashioned coziness - sheepskin, log baskets, wooden basins, and anything furry or quilted. It's perfect for this horrid weather. In any case, that makes me extreemly happy. You know I've waited all year for this. So now that my wonderful magazine is here... what should I wear to honor Mrs. de Wintour? Nothing too dramatic, 'cos I'm kind of keeping a low profile these days (big hair issue this week)... And suddenly, inspiration is dawned upon me! I am such a genious! HA! I'm going houdstooth! Matching shoes, coat and handbag and I could totally be on the "pretty patterns" or the "Fair and Square" pieces in Vogue (articles are called pieces, btw.) So fab I need to hit the town, tummy ache, or no tummy ache! Turuluuu -Rx.

August 29, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: T'was sunny, now it's kinda cloudy... dunno
Mood: owww my tummy!!!

Ok, so most of you will probably agree I'm sharing a tad too much information, but the point of this blog is the why? when? where? not my social life - but as the two are obviously bonded, deal wwith it. It's that time of the month... again! and therefore I am in no mood for tight jeans that I can bearly sit in. I didn't blog yesterday not becuase of lack of time, which is my general excuse, but because I had a serious fashion fall-out (which btw ended up quite nicely, as it turns out.) Anyway, I wasn't aware of what was going to happen to my body today (get all bloated like a balloon) so I obviously didn't fit in my skinny red F21 jeans, and that made me through a huge tantrum (at my wardrobe, no one got hurt, I promise) and I ended up wearing a comfy skirt and of course, a white tee - so comforting it kills me... Anyway, I also wore my new YAY cowgirl boots which would have acredited an awsome blog entry but at the en of the day they made me very happy, which really, is the most important bit of all. Today started out normal, so I pulled out my comfy jeans, the first tee I could lay my hands on and since it was sunny and I had to do quite a bit of footing, my white semi-loafers which I adore and I don't wear much due to the rain (eww wet feet.) Ran my morning erands just fine, got home, had lunch, changed into sweatpants (I am in NO mood for leaving the comfort of my cozy home) and all is well (that and lots and lots of tea, and a hot water bottle, and my stuffed whale.) I've finished classes for the day do I'm hittling the sack (no, I'm not going to sleep) just watch some telly 'till B get's here. God my tummy hurts. Thank God for sweatpants, huh? -Rx.

Mood: Happy

What would happen if Blair Waldorf had been born Blair Smith and she hadn't been a NY Upper East Side fashionista? I'm pretty sure she would have still craved fashion, and she would still be aware of the latest fashion trends. She would even still wear couture. She just wouldn't wear $5000 dresses to take a troll in the park, or 10 inch stilletos to walk downtown, or be bffs with Anna Wintour. So I did a little social experiment, and I concluded if Blair Smith (N'ae Waldorf) was to get dressed this fine (ok not sooo fine, but whatever, it sounds better) morning, she would wear exactly this:
Jeans: Black
T-shirt: Royal blue v-neck
Cardi: Black wrap-around
and of course, once again... CHANEL. Thank you Coco. Rx.

PS. THIS BLOG IS DEDICATED TO MY BFF D, WHO BROUGHT ME TO LOVE GOSSIP GIRL AS MUCH AS I DO, AND WHOM WITH I USED TO WATCH IT EVERY SUNDAY MORNING WHILE WE PASSED OUT FROM THE EXTREME HANGOVER WITH ICE COLD COKE AND ACHING FEET. Miss u D, my very own Blair!!!

August 26, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy witha hint of sunshine
Mood: I'm better now...

So I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, literally, who cares? It's happened to all of us, one time or another. As the day goes by my mood gets better and better. For starters, I had a many-pedi, which according to Margo is the one thing that cheers girls up, no matter what. Second, I'm going out on a date tonight! And no, before you wonder, I have not broken up with B... Far from it. We're more in love than ever. Only that well you get into routine and you stop going out on dates. Well, tonight we're having a proper date. Technically he should be picking me up, but we're doing it the other way around for timing reasons. But we're going out for dinner and a movie which is FAB! So, I want to look fab. Adn the bottom line is always, ALWAYS Chanel. So I've paired it up with my gold ballet flats which I bought in London 10 years ago 'cos it was pouring rain and I got soked and I needed dry shoes in order to avoid pneumonia and whatever.... Those shoes, with my gold Vanessa Bruno sweather which I also bought in London aaages ago and my black leather jacket. You might wonder why today's blog picture is a little different. Well, I was thinking and in order for you to understand me and my sometimes bizzare fashion predicaments, I thought you should know me better. Me meee. What I like the most in different areas of life. I mean that also directs people's chosings fo fashion right? So here's to me, and my likes. :) -Rx.

August 25, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Sunny, yay!
Mood: Happy yet disappointed

Some very lucky sod won the national lotery last night. I hope he/she wasn't 90 years old and din't die of a stroke like poor old Ned Devine. That would be most unfortunate. So that's a bummer. Anyway, it's ok, it just wan't my time to win. But I will, one day... I hope. Anyway, moving to greener pastures, my green trouseres were quite the sensation yesterday, and although I'm feeling far less bitchy today, I'm still in a high mood for fashion. But what to wear? The eternal question, right? Well, today I'm ina "let's go to the country club, daaarling..." mood, so I picked out a purple polo shirt (I totally have to by more at Aeropostale, it fits really well) and a little urban touch, mu purple $5 flats!! You didn't rhink I'd forgotten them, did you? So chic. LAt time I wore this polo shirt I wore it with grey... But I'm not in a very grey mood, really... Black? I wore black yesterday. hmmm... Duuh I'm such a dummy! Obviously my Coach handbag (the colorful one, not to gloat but I do have two, don't I... hehehe). As war as this blog goes, I'm ready to mambo! Although... I have to confess, I did kind of had an outfit plan for today, which I didn't get to wear because I had a missing link... I wanted really badly to wear my black and white Oxfords which mum bought for me, but I couldn't because my brilliant outfit included black opaque tights of which I have non because they ripped and... Anyway, I'll get a pair today, I hope, so my plan will be complete! Muahaha... hehehehe... SOrry. I really don't know what's gotten into me... -Rx.

August 24, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: CLoudy, hopefully not rainy
Mood: Totally GG

OMG I'm in a total Gossip Girl cast mood today. No idea why but I feel super fashion. Kind of like Serena but without the mole and the minidress. You know, a wise woman once said that every morning when you wake up you say a little prayer. After all, you never know what your day may hold. Well, remember how I told you about my package from DSW being sent back to Ohio and that it would be sent back to me imidiately? Well, wrong answer girls, turns out one they get the package back, they'll give me a full refund and my order will be lost for ever. Well, wrong again, becuase when my package contains the anniversary edition of the DSW handbag (only 50 were made), I'm getting what I paid for. So I spent for ever calling here and there until I fibnally convinced the girl on the other side of the phone, I had to get my handbag. So the shoes won't be returned, who cares, I can always get another pair later. But my precious handbag, is well on it's way home to mamma. And I know I suold like a total selfish - rhymes with witch- but I'm getting what I wanted to beggin with and which is rightfully mine - it's called perseverance. Keep up with the progam! (I learned it from my mum, btw). And FYI, green pants are not emo when you pair them up with a gorgeous pair of strappy pumps and an oversized black handbag. So like I mentiones before on my neon entry, don't be afraid of color; it's not afraid of you. -Rx.

Weather: Super rainy
Mood: tireeed

No mood to blog. HAD to, not lose track of life. Didn't leave the house today till nightfall. Felt like wearing sweatpants and a denim jacket. Just something I picked out from a tight top and baggy bottoms. Makes you look thinner. Time for bed. Na-night. -Rx.

August 22, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Rainy
Mood: PIssed off, yet relieved

I was wondering what was taking so long. I bought the cutest UGG cardi boots in order to get a DSW aniversary handbag for free and that was a month ago ad still no package. So I tracked my package down (by then I was pretty pissed off) and found out it was sent back becuase I typed my address in wrong. SIlly me. hahaha. So now I'm wating for DSW to reply saying it's all going to be fine and that my package is well on it's way. Stupid typos. Anyway, it's raining, and not met, may I add, so I decided it was time to wear my pink UGGs or this  terribly cold weather. So pink boots meands pink everything else, right? Pink tee, pink cardi, pink umbrella even. SO cute. I'm all pink and set to go into the rain! Well, not into, I'll catch a cold. But you know what I mean. I'm going textile shopping with Auntie Uga, so I need to be warm. God, I love pink, don't you? -Rx.

Good morning people of the cyberworld, I, as usual, am in a terrible rush, so quickly:
Lunch at B's - just the usual family get together every weekend
Morning out shopping with mum
I't Sunday, who bothers to get dressed up on a Sunday?
Soooo sleepy, need confy clothes for cat nap after lunch
End result: old jeans and a tee. And slip in trainers. And a hoodie. Always a hoodie... :)

Mood: IT'S THE WORLD CUP SUB-20 FINAL TONIGHT

So it's the minor league. Who cares?? I was brought up in a country who lives, breaths, loves and breeds football (soccer), so who gives a rat's ass? Football is football. The final is Brasil -Portugal and even though I'm wishing and hoping, and deaming and praying that Portugal win's, it ain't gonna happen. I mean Brazil is Brazil, right? And OK, i'm not thaaat bi'a'fan of Portugal, I just got carried away with Diane King. Aaaanyway, I was feeling combat boots and my new Old Navy v-neck. Military jacket, obviously, and we're done here. GO PORTUGAL!!! -Rx.

August 19, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy
Mood: Happy

I'm going out for coffee and then to pick up my car, and for some reason I have developed a sudden cold I DID NOT have planned. Anyway, I'm pretty excited 'cos I'm going to the cinema later and then to have a nice cup of tea at this adorable cupcake place round the corner from the cinema with my mum and aunt, so that's pretty nice. A girld day of cinema and tea is great for the soul, wouldn't you agree? Tonight however I've cancelled every possible plan I had 'cos I want to stay in and snuggle with my boy. He's been working sooo hard, he deserved a night in of total relaxation. I'm feeling really pink so I pulled out my flamingo tank which I haven't work for over a year (I know this because I bought it in London when I went to Hult and haven't worn it since I got back, a year ago...) and a pink cardi my bf gave me which is 3 sizes too big but which I totally adore!! Coach handbag and converse, again, very Hollywood, and I'm all set. Achuu. Crap. Cold, cold, GO AWAY! I mean, it's TGIF, right? -Rx.

August 18, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: clouded night
Mood: chilled...

If you've ever seen Gossip Girl you'll know what I mean when I say I felt like Blair Waldorf today - and by that I don't mean a totally dominating, controlling, brown-haired ice cube. I mean chic and cute, inocent but mean, I don't know. I just felt like pearl earings and a headband. Anyway, I went with a white bib t-shirt I've has since for ever and it was pretty perfect. Anyway, that's it for today, to telling what I did or how my day went, I just did this becuase I have to discipline myself, but I'm done now, so I'm heating dinner and then off to bed and a good chic flick. Na-night! -Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy
Mood: Sleeeeepy

Maybe it's becuase my uncle broughtly brownies last night (which btw were shaped like tiny ginger bread people, totally adorable)... I don't know, but I woke up with a very strong determination to wear brown today. I would have happily worn a pair of 3 layer, flake Minnetonka boots, except I don't own one... yet. So I did the best I could by wearing my Minnetonka flats instead, with my Minnetonka handbag and a brown tee. It's close enough I guess. Oh and my matching Minnetonka headband. hehehe. When I was dressed head to toe like a North American city-modern Pocahontas, I have to say, I was quite pleased. It looked just right. Too bad about the boots though, but never mind, my flats are totally fab, too! FOr now I need a little nap, cos later I have yoga and then I have dinner with B and his family to celebrate their new office, which is totally awsome and I'm so proud of him, I wouldn't miss it for the world! So... Z z Z z Z z Z z.... -Rx.

August 16, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy and cold, as usual
Mood: Really excited

Ok, this is going to sound ridiculous but I'm really excited about some stuff I just got that I bought on the internet. I love opening boxes, even though I know what's inside becuase it kind of feels like Christmas, and well... CVhristmas is my favorite season of the year. I mean, who's isn't? "It's beginning to look a t lot like Christmaaas, everywhere you gooo..." lalalala... Ok, let's not get ahead of ourselves, shall we? Any, now that my mid-year x-mas is here, I better go pick up the pieces. But all that isn't really relevant to how I picked my outfit today, although it does help I'm bursting with happiness. If not I probably would care less about what I look like. Point is, I have a birthday party tonight at a friend's house and everyone will be there so... what to wear? (OK, I'M STILL IN MY PJS!, you got me) THINK... THINK... THINK... AHA! I've got it! I'm so brilliant....
Ok, Zara jeans, black tank, colorblock turtleneck (F21) and my gorgeous new-ish sparly black shoes!!! As it happens I thought "think shoes.. think shoes..." and tadaaaa! hahaha brilliant. And yes, I have taken a certain liking for my Chanel handbag... Your point? It's a phase... It'll pass... NOT! -Rx.

August 15, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy - WHY ISN'T IT RAINING!!
Mood: Totally blessed

Ok, so why would I want it to be raining, right? Easy - because I bought the most adorable, red plaid rain booties yesterday, which believe it or not are brandless and only cost me about $30.000 COP ($15 USD) and I just HAD to wear them today! I mean helloooo! They are sooo cute! But of course, m'dear, it's not stupid raining. Anyway, it is quite cloudy and cold so with any luck, RAIN! hahaha I'ts a bit silly but whatever. SO since I had to wear me booties, I also picked out my new Zara, light blue jeans, my wrap-around Old Navy tee and a black cardi so I don't look like a Christmas tree. And mum's let me borrow her plaid scarf to match my boots so it's all PARFAIT! I'm so happy, plus I'm on summer holiday starting today and for 2 weeks so I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the day... Ok, I'm totally NOT going to just sit here! I'm going out, so people will see my new boots and uuu and aaa at them. I'm also suposed to be having lunch with my dear B but he's covered it work so who knows! Anyway, I'm gonna hit the streets and it'll be just me, my booties, my Beetle and Jet Joan enjoying the day! -Rx.

August 14, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy
Mood: I'M ON VACAAAAAAATION!!!!

Ok I'm not on vacation, but I do have a 2 week break from uni which is just as good, 'cos I seriously need it. You have no idea how much work I keep getting and everytime I have to read more, and research more, and do more, which is great except it's exausting... Anyway, I'm on my 2 week break and I'm starting off by having lunch at B's aunt's house 'cos her son just got back, so I'm really looking forward to that. It is a family lunch so I have to look half descent but I don't want to look like I'm over-doing it either. So after a long hour's thought I put together a pair of really dark, skinny blue jeans, a white flowery top and matching shoes! Totally casual and cute, plus I'm wearing my St. John's Bay chunky cardigan and my grandmother's vintage handbag which is a totally nice touch, I think. So, looking totally fab, I'm going to take my dog out for a small Sunday walk before lunch! -Rx.

August 13, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cold and cloudy
Mood: Where's the off button?

OMG my head is killing me. Not that I have a headache, just a tiny, little hangover that I wish would go away. One on my bf's best and closest friends is leaving on Wednesday to go and live in the States so we went out clubbing last night as our last night out all of us, and we had an awsome time... but this, today, is the end result. YEsterday I wore 2 pairs of shoes, btw: gray boots during the day, and nude, tiny kitten heels to go dancing, so I guess that takes care of that. I have to admit, I wasn't really sure weather that counted as wearing them but I guess it did, and for quite a long time. Let's see... I wore the boots from 9 to 6, that's 9 hours and I wore the kitten heels from 7ish till around 3, that's 8 hours... so yes, I guess I can say I burned both ends of the stick with them shoes... hehehe. Now today's outfit is a whole 'nother story. First of all, hangover = no bright colors, I might be sick. Second, comfort above fashion. So, I ended up with this: Zara jeggings, white T, white slocuh sweater (reaaaally old one) and my UGGs... Nothing extraordinary, and another one bites the dust... -Rx.

August 10, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: They said it wouldn't rain... Stupid weather people
Mood: WAY TOO HAPPY

It's really late (11pm) and I'm totally happy 'cos my bf got his new office today, and we spent most of the day there just kind'a organizing and hangin' around and it was so perfect. I'm so proud of him. Them we went out for celebration dinner with friends and that was even better. SO all in all it was a good day. Today's events, however, had nothing to do with my outfit. I actually wanted to wear a skirt, (really badly) but I left it for Friday, so I hope I'm still in my mood skirt by then. I actually had a conversation yesterday during lunch with my aunt about tights. Opaque tights, to be exact. You see, she reaaaaaally loves them, and therefore she got me going, and now I have a pair in every color. Point is mum got her like 4 pairs for her b-day from this awsome place called welovecolors.com which is totally fab and they do solid colors and stripes! And since I've just told you, I have a pair in every color, I told my aunt I wanted a pair of navy and white stripy ones, which would look totally cute with my navy and white tee (which I'm wearing today) and a denim skirt. So, all in all, I woke up today and wow! I wanted to wear my navy and white t-shirt too! Coincidence? Dunno but I had to choose something and since I was, am, determined to leave the skirt for Friday, well here I am, wearing all Navy! -Rx.

*Dun't know why it didn't publish last night, sorry! :s

August 9, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Suprisingly sunny, considering I was told it would rain today
Mood: Icky

Have you ever felt uncomfortable withyourself? Weill that's exactly how I feel, like I need another shower (yes, I did shower today...) Dunno why. However that's not how I felt this morning, when I got dressed. Actually I felt a bit like Hillary Duff in Material Girls, tré, tré chic! hahaha. So I have these gorgeous denim heels which I never wear because with jeans they're a bit too much and I don't know what else to combine them with, so they just sit in my shoe cubbard and look cute. Today however is my auntie Uga's b-day, the perfect ocasion for that bit too much, and as I was a total Duff knock out, why not. I paired it up with my peasant shirt 'cos I actually wanted a blue shirt to match my shoes, but blue shirt, blue jeans and blue shoes and I might as well would have shown up at the smurf premiere. So I went for white and loose instead... :) -Rx.

August 8, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Sunny
Mood: Bad ass chic

I have no idea what's gotten into me but I'm in a total Kat Stratford, I'm a bad ass chic and I don't give a f**k mood today. Just now I got in from running some erands and I was listening to Joan Tett and her Bad Reputation as loud as my speakers would go just kind of bobbing my head in a rock concert style and wishing traffic wouldn't exist at all! Maybe it's because I didn't get much sleep last night but I'm sooo drowsy and tired and bad ass! hahaha... Anyway, I went for the whole black tee, leather jacket look and I "used" my fav. boots card. I mean, being a bad ass doesn't mean I'm in a bad mood or anything, so I figured today was as good a day as any. And it was totally worth it; they totally played the part. I did have to run erands still, but I felt like that scene of 10 things I hate about u when Kat arrives at school and Cameron sees her for the first time and she just looks so "so waht? what r u staring at a**h**e!!??!!" Oh God is good to me... Anyway, now I need a "kat nap" before Yoga or I might fall asleep at Namaste.... Kat nap... he.he.he... get it? -Rx.

DOn't give a damn about my reputation... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RAQXg0IdfI

So far, so good... -Rx.

August 4, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: dunno
Mood: Down a bit...

I'm in NO mood for bloggin... Things haven't been looking very bright today, specially since England just lost a place to the next phase to the Under 20 World Cup... Stupid England... Anyway, just for the record, not that you need to know, I wore a very oversized skirt today because I was in NO mood for jeans, or trousers of any sort that reminded me that I need to go back to the gym, except I have no gym partner... But that's not the point. I wanted to dedicate today to my shoes. Like I promised I have been really good not repeating shoes and today is day 15 of me being completly honest. (it would be day 16 except I had a horrible migrane yesterday so I wore no shoes to bed...)
Anyway, here's a little summary of what's been going on shoewise I I hope to be able to resume my bog duties as followed early tomorrow... For now, turuluuu... -Rx.
