Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: It was really sunny today
Mood: Totally chilled

Ok so it's totally my fault this is posted so late, but hey, I'M ON HOLIDAY. I woke up really late today and I've just kind'a chilled all day. Actually, when I was having breakfast this morning I turned on E! and they were showing the Forbes 25 under 20 richest celebrities (totally out of date btw, it was done like in 2007 but never mind, who doesn't like a re-run right?) and there they are, #5 the Olsen twins: another of my fashion gurus. And there was Mary Kate, which I think is soo much prettier than Ashley, and yes, you can so tell them apart, and she was wearing a peasant shirt with rolled up jeans and black pointy heels and I said to myself "hey that looks nice" so I had a shower and pulled on rolled up jeans with my peasant shirt and a pair of black pointy heels that I bought with my mum in San Fran a couple of years ago and guess what?! Total cuteness and, since my hair's a mess today, it totally played the part! -Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy
Mood: Chillaxed

My happiness is my own little secret and I can't share it with you but let me assure you, I'm thrilled! I know it's late but by now you well know about the light situation in my house so excuse the tardiness, it's not my fault. I'm on end of term holiday this week so I'm ecstatic! And the day just keeps getting better and better. You know, I love to plan stuff, just, in general... Birthdays, trips, vacations, stuff... Next runner up is mum's birthday on Wednesday. I hate it when there's only hours left because I get all anxious and excited and it kills me. I want her to open her gifts and all... Anyway, for now I'm just in total relax mode, so to portray my chilled mood I'm wearing scruffy jeans and a blue Aeropostale t-shirt.  No need for heels of fancy clothes... Just relax. Right now I'm actually going to change into my gym clothes and off to the gym I go, burn off all the calories I gained yesterday at the birthday party- which btw was great- So of to the gym I go, hi ho, hi ho, and off to the gym I go, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho, hi hoooooooo -Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Rainy
Mood: Really happy

It's my bf's niece's 2 year-old birthday today and we're having cake. I realy have to run because it's raining and I have to go find the helium guy before the rain drives him away or it's going to be one balloonless birthday, and we can't have that, can we? So I've poped on a pair of jeans and a white T and trainers. I mean I don't have to look couture for 2 year olds, right? -Rx

Location:Bogota, Colombia
Weather: NO idea
Mood: GO MAN U GO!!

So I was suposed to post this hours ago, but trust me I've been busy. SO here I am, sitting in front of my bf's new 50" TV watching minute 19 of the Champions League Final of my beloved Manchester United against Barcelona. And speaking of football, since Shakira's dating Barcelona's playboy player Gerard Pique, does that make her a WAG? In case you don't know, a WAG is a footballer's wife and/or girlfriend. A famous example is of course, Britain's own VICTORIA BECKHAM. She also tends to be a fashionista with a love for Hermes handbags and ridiculously high heels (which she should totally stop wearing at least while she's pregnant. She's not 20 any more!) Anyway, she tends to set a high standard for all other WAGS in the way they dress. It's like being the first lady of football or something. Anyway, I'm wearing all red and white to show my inconditional support for my beloved Reds... I'm even wearing my England underwear for extra suppoert to the Brits, although you probably didn't need to know that. Anyway, I'd love to talk more about WAGS and their undeniable sence in style (most of the time) but I have a match to watch. We can retake later. GO MAN U GO! -Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia

Weather: Sunny
Mood: Really annoyed

If I could start to describe how annoyed I was you would probably stop reading right now…Fortunately for you, I can’t. The electricity company is driving me nuts with all this “lights on – lights off” rubbish. Still, never mind them, my wanting to kill someone right now has nothing to do with this blog. This blog is about fashion. And it’s Friday, and I will not let this get to me. Friday. What is it about Fridays that makes the world so much better? I’m not sure, but it’s wonderful. So, to make it even more wonderful, I want to talk about something crucial to fashion regarding this season’s latest trends: neon colors. In case you’ve been in the dark lately (like me) neon bright colors are back on the runway this season. My first reaction was like “really? That is sooo 20 years ago!” I mean my mum still has in the back of her wardrobe somewhere a black cardigan with bright-colored rhombi which I thought was a little too bright, if you know what I mean. But as it turns out, she just had an incredible fashion premonition! So when you open your wardrobe this season think bright: blue, red, yellow, green, magenta, purple… even orange! Basically any color you can stick the word “electric” before it works just fine. I know it might be a bit hard to adjust to, but trust me, once you’ve embraced it, you’ll brighten up any room. Now, if you want a real fashion challenge, try wearing lots of bright colors at the same time. I know experimenting with color is a bit scarier that you care to admit, but how many white and black clothes do you have vs. really bright colored clothes in your wardrobe right now? Be honest… Summer is the perfect time to experiment with bright colors, ignore the weather: if it’s sunny, then great, you won’t feel like a totally misplaced clown. If it’s cloudy and rainy, you’ll stand out and vivify the day away!

Tips and Tricks for wearing and mixing bright colors:

*     Accessorize: I know embracing the idea at first might be a bit strange, so try wearing all black and wearing bright turquoise shoes a yellow pashmina, and a blue handbag. With baby steps you’ll feel more confident and less flashy
*    Makeup: if you’re a makeup fan (I’m not, to be quite honest) you could try purple eye liner and bright pink lipstick with a coat of clear lip gloss over it. It’s an excellent way to experiment with bright hues
*    Don’t mix too many colors at once: Wearing three or even four colors at once can create an incredible look, but I recommend stopping there. Mix five or more colors and you’ll risk looking like a rainbow explosion (and not in a good way)!

Apart from that, experiment away! I’m starting out slow too; don’t think I’m Miss Rainbow Bright or anything. I’ve picked out for today a very simple outfit with my denim overall and my white Abercrombie shirt. To brighten it up a notch I’ve matched it with my new electric blue tights and a matching pashmina. And what better way to compliment it than with my totally colorful Coach handbag! I’m also wearing black suede boots (which I missed to illustrate but since the background is black already, I thought well, why bother…) LET THERE BE LIGHT! –Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Rainy
Mood: Confused…

You know, I’ve been thinking about where money goes. More specifically, about where my money goes. Some people (including my dear bf) think I’m a bit of a shopaholic -which I’m not. There’s HUGE difference between being a shopaholic and liking to shop. So yes, I like clothes, I study fashion for crying out loud! But it’s not a crime, if you spend your money smartly. For instance, I have very clear on what to save, on what to bargain and on what to splurge. My weak spot is shoes. No doubt if I could have one of those wardrobes that movie stars and super models have with a wall from top to bottom covered in shoes, I would. However, I don’t splurge on shoes, far from it actually. On this trip to Orlando I had a small shopping list of specific things I wanted to buy and that I needed to complete many of my outfits. For example, I needed a pair of purple flats. I didn’t really like purple ‘till not to long ago, so I had never even thought about buying purple shoes. Now, however, I felt I needed a pair to go with several purple outfits I have. So I looked around the shops but since it’s almost summer, all I could find were sandals (which btw I bought 0 pairs because I live in a cold city where we don’t wear sandals and although I have a summer home by the beach I don’t need more sandals so I totally didn’t buy any, which a shopaholic would TOTALLY HAVE!) Anyway, one day I was walking through the mall with my bf, hand in hand, just window shopping (I also needed a red T because the one I have is two sizes too small and I can’t wear it anymore or I might just scream) and we walked past a shop that said “everything up to 70% off.” From what I could see from the door, they had every colored shorts for $10 (which is ridiculously cheap but still, I bought 0 because I'M NOT A SHOPAHOLIC, I had a goal and I was going to stick to it), so I thought to myself, I might as well walk in and see if they happen to have red v-neck tees, I mean right? In the end they didn’t have any because for some reason cropped Ts are the latest fashion trend (I totally don’t get why anyone would want to go out showing their tummy unless they’re Megan Fox) but that’s fashion for you, always unpredictable and not always understandable! Anyway, as we were just walking out, I noticed a wall with many pairs of shoes just hanging there, and within the many colors they had purple flats. I walked to take a closer look and they were $10 – take 50% off. That’s $5 dollars for shoes! So yes, I bought them, and I haven’t worn them yet but they’re totally cute and I love them. My point is, I could have hundreds of shoes, but I don’t feel the need to have an a thousand dollar pair to feel happy; I don't splurge my money on ridiculously expensive shoes. I mean, I’ll put it this way: just type in designer purple ballerina flats into Google. The first site that comes up (at least on my PC) is http://www.dellamoda.com/balenciaga-women-1502.html and if you open the page they’re selling a pair of horrendous Balenciaga (no offence to Balenciaga, he’s a great designer) purple flats that cost $399 on this page but that originally cost $545!!! I could have bought 109 pairs of shoes at the other store for that much money!!! (plus, mine are sooo much prettier…) So honestly, I don't consider myself a high spender. I know many people prefer to spend a lot of money on one very expensive thing and not all their money on loads cheap stuff and its fine. Everybody shops differently. It’s true in most cases that expensive designer clothes are better made to a point, but the cost of the garment isn’t on the make, it’s on the label: the name on the garment is what is so expensive. So next time you’re going shopping, look at the label on the back of the designer t-shirt or pair of pants that caught your eye; it’ll probably say “made in Sri Lanka” and then go to a much cheaper store and pick up a pair of similar pants… it’ll probably say the same thing. My secret to making my less expensive clothes last is: I take excellent care of my clothes. It doesn’t really matter if it was only $5 or $10, I take excellent care of every piece of clothing I have, and trust me, they last forever. So back to me being a shopaholic, I’m not. I like to shop, but, I keep everything I buy, and with time, I complete many different outfits with one piece of clothing. All this came to me earlier this morning after I finished today’s picture for my outfit. I realized although I did spend a lot of money on my handbag, I always buy designer in outlets and on really good sales, never (so far) full price (except for my Coach handbag, the one with all the pretty colors, but that’s different because I’d saved that money for ever and I wanted to spend it on something really nice…) Anyway, although I spend a larger amount of money on my Chanel handbag, I got the white collar, black polo shirt at Old Navy in clearance for $3.99, the pashmina at H&M for $4.99, the jeggins on sale from Hollister at $29.99, the boots from F21 for $24.50, and the coat at Wet Seal (one of the cheapest stores in the US that I have ever been to, which has weird stuff for my taste but if you look around you can find pretty decent things, like my white coat) for the modest price of $7.99 ( I swear that’s what it cost on my dog’s life – and no, he did not just drop dead, thanks for asking.)  So all in all, my complete outfit including coat and boots comes to around $70 dollars minus the handbag. That’s pretty good I should think. Don’t you? –Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: mmm cloudy
Mood: total relaxation...

Total bliss... I just had a wonderful massage to take away all the stress I've suffered in the last 12 hours (besides my neurologist says they help with my migraines, so in a way I need them)... You remember how I said due to the construction work going on around my house I was losing sleep and they were cutting the energy? Well, last night it was both. Every time the energy came back a stupid alarm would go off right outside my window (and it happened at least 6 times) and it was driving me mad! Also, my machine goes off saying to reset something something something press start now beeeeep! After about the 3rd time it woke me up I got off and unplugged it all together. But of course, the stupid phone still had battery, which ran out pretty quickly because it was trying to find signal from the base that I had unplugged! So, guess what? It started to beep. At first it was a low, very subtle bip... After a while however, it turned into a much louder, much more "hey pay attention" BEEP BEEP BEEP which made me get up yet again and lock it in the bathroom. Anyway, I was really cranky this morning, and of course I hadn't been able to blog or shower because there was.. NO ENERGY, that's right... But all that is in the past now.. I had my wonderful therapist come and after my massage and a little girly chit chatter over hot tea I feel so much better. Now all I need is a hot shower and I'm ready to go. OH MY GOD I just received an email confirming my tickets to Orlando! Ok, I know I just got back but I've had this dream since for EVER that I can spend my birthday in Disney and then in September last year I saw how birthday people got congratulated by all the park staff and that just made me want to go even more and my bf promised we would and now we are!!!! And yes, my birthday isn't for another... 6 months roughly... but you seriously need to plan these things in advance, I mean, cheap tickets run out fast right? Anyway, I'm a planner, so I'M GOING TO SPEND MY BIRTHDAY IN DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!! I'm so utterly happy NOTHING can ruin my day! I'm not even worried about what I'm wearing anymore. I'm just gonna lay back and relax. My new Hollister graphic T and my beautiful white loafers which I never wear (I bought them in London total bargain at M+S) and yesterday's handbag in case I go out. In any case I'm going to the gym later so no one's really gonna see me except my mum so why get all dressed up? Besides, I like wearing new things, and old things I never wear, for that matter! -Rx

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy
Mood: Sweetie pie

I have a confession to make: I would have loved to be a ballerina. My mum says she did enroll me in ballet classes but apparently I refused to go… Don’t know about that but anyway, I’m too old for that now and my flexibility’s gone down the drain. Even my Pilates teacher thinks I need to “practice at home,” whatever that means. Anyway, I was watching the Film and Arts channel this morning because they were showing this ballet contest between academies and I couldn’t stop thinking how wonderful it would have been. Plus they have such fabulous bodies and they’re so dedicated and talented… Anyway, to cheer myself up I’m wearing all sweet pink. It’s as they say: “Pink to make the boys wink.” So I’m wearing my pink ballerina flats which I’ve had since forever and my pinkish/lilac yogurt color sweater to match. When I opened my pashmina drawer (yes I have a drawer-full) I remembered Jennifer Aniston’s scene in “Just Go with It” when Adam Sandler takes her shopping and I thought hmmm she’s wearing a pink pashmina there which looks quite nice, so I pulled out a very similar one in color. I have to say, I get a lot of my wardrobe inspiration from actresses I like and especially from their characters (I’m a BIG chick flick fan); I mean there’s nothing wrong with that, as long as you put your own signature into the outfit! Anyway, the sun’s starting to come out and I better post this before they cut off the light, again! Stupid builders… -Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia

Weather: Really sunny
Mood: A very unattractive shade of green

Ugh I'm going to be sick...again! I'm seriously not feeling that great. Yesterday, to try and understand why I'm feeling so green, started our great: I woke up early, did some studying, did my blog, studied some more and it was lunch time. We went out for lunch with mum and my bf to some horrendous restaurant but the company was great and then we had dessert... It was all pretty much great, really... Then in the evening we went out to dinner with some friends and then I arrived home... Nothing extraordinary happened... Then, as I was getting into my pjs I started seeing spots. Here's the thing, I suffer from stupid migraines. So, i know what was coming. No Advil. Crap. So I took my migraine meds but without the Advil I was pretty much doomed. You can imagine the rest. The crapiest night ever. I finally went to sleep at about 5AM and woke up at 1:30 this afternoon feeling rather ill... I have to say thank God my headache's gone, but I feel really drowsy and sick and UGH! I HATE MIGRANES. But, I can't sit around and sulk, and since it's a very nice, sunny afternoon, I’m going to have a shower and get dressed. If I dress pretty it'll make me feel better. I turned on the TV and they were showing a E! True Hollywood Story about Reese Witherspoon (one of my all-time favorite actresses and Star of my favorite movie) and I remembered this People StyleWatch mag I bought in Orlando to read by the poolside which was almost all about Reese Witherspoon. In one of the pics she was wearing a red and blue stripe top, a denim skirt and red flats. I then realized I had bought a very similar top from F21 (pure coincidence, I swear!) Anyway, I remembered her outfit and I immediately felt like wearing it. I mean what can boost more my mood that a pretty new top? Of course I'm not going to wear a skirt, because well, it's not that sunny, but I can always wear jeans, right? I mean I’m not like one of those crazy famous people stalkers or anything. Besides, from the mag I know she was wearing a black handbag which totally doesn't go. Honestly... -Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy with prospects of sun maybe?
Mood: Sexy but still laidback

Did you know that cowgirls weren’t properly acknowledged until the late 19th century? That wasn’t that long ago, if you think about it… I mean cowboys have been around forever; I mean there are legends about them and everything! No legends about cowgirls though… Which reminds me, do you remember when I said I felt all dressed up like Paul Bunyan? Well, today I feel more like Pecos Bill, another of my all-time favorite fictional characters and personal hero. He was the quickest, bravest cowboy in the west, and sooo charming! <3 <3 <3… Anyway, he’s been immortalized and put up on the shelf with other two “big men,” John Henry and of course Paul Bunyan. (And just between us, no, I don’t think I’ll ever feel like I’m dressed up like John Henry, I mean for starters he was like 6ft tall and weighed like 100 pounds, I mean HAVE YOU SEEN THE GUY? And secondly, well, I’m not really into the whole foulard and giant hammer thing…) Anyway, back to Pecos and my outfit. Remember the really cute white boots I bought at F21? Well they’re kind of cowgirly so I’ve paired them up with a white tank and a pearl-knit oversized sweater which matches the boots quite nicely. But I do live in a very chilly city so I’m also wearing my brown leather jacket and to give it the Old Wild Western touch, my Minnetonka flared handbag and a brown pashmina (that’s a foulardy as I go.) I feel quite proud of my outfit actually; let’s just hope if when we go out to lunch we don’t decide to go walking ‘cos I’m pretty sure it’s going to rain and my boots are canvas and I am not washing them later. Rain, rain, go away! –Rx.

Mood: Is Jen Aniston a mood?

I'm just feeling really laid back today, you know? It's one of those days when a pair of jeans and an Aeropostale graphic tee and trainers are your best friends. No high heels. No cleavage. No makeup. No tight jeans. Just laidback clothes that make you look fab while feeling completely comfy. It's just one of those days when glam meets girl next door... -Rx

PS: Probably my shortest blog entry ever, but I HAVE to do my nails and my bf's gonna be here any minute

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Sunny (let's hope it stays that way)
Mood: Friday Diva

What a bee-autiful morning. Perfect for wearing my brand new bee shoes! I don’t remember if I told you or not about them before, but they are the cutest shoes ever! So, as I do, I’ve assembled all my outfit accordingly. I’m wearing my black Stradivarius jeans which I thought I didn’t fit in anymore but it turns out I do, my new Arizona tee that I bought in JCPenney, a black cardigan and my black Chanel bag. I’m so excited I want to hit the streets right away! And to be quite honest, I kinda have to run, my mum’s rejoined her art lessons and I promised to take her so I could keep the car to run some errands. I have to go to the supermarket (again!) I have to go to pick an envelope from my dad’s dentist’s office, and then I have to pick my mum up from her class so she can drop me off at my bf’s office for lunch. I’m so excited, and so late, as I do! Have a great Friday! I know I will! Don’t forget, it’s a bee-autiful day! -Rx

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cold 'n cloudy
Mood: numb

I honestly think the weather affects my mood, or is it my mood that affects the weather? I don’t know, sometimes I think it’s both… I do have a couple of things to look forward to today. For starters I’m going shopping with my aunt for my mum’s birthday present. Of course I already have her the perfect gift, but auntie U doesn’t and like my bf says, I don’t care who’s paying as long as I’m in the shops. It doesn’t even have to be for me, the shops just boost my energy, and right now, I seriously need it. This is the thing about going on holiday, when you get back, you’re forced to hit reality the hard way. All the work you didn’t do but must be done, all  the left behind paperwork, all the little pounds you gained for eating too many pancakes that you have to lose… It’s hard work. And for some reason I’m not sleeping well, I’m too worried about stuff… Still, I have to get on with it, right? I’m also looking forward to seeing my bf tonight; he’s also been drowned in work so it’s been a bit of a hectic week for both of us. Since I’m seeing him and all, I want to look pretty for him so I’ve chosen my new Hollister denim skirt (I use to have one I’d wear almost every day from Abercrombie but every time I put it in the wash it unraveled a bit more and a bit mire and know there’s not much skirt left, so I had to buy a new one) and I’ve pared it up with baby blue accessories for the “cute” effect. So, baby blue tights, a baby blue sweater and my baby blue Prada handbag that my mum bought for me ages ago in this huge discount sale. I’m also wearing my precious ballerina flats which don’t actually have a brand label and I have no clue where I bought them or how long I’ve had them for… I know it’s been quite a while and trust me, I take excellent care of my clothes and specially my shoes, so I might’ve had them for longer than I can remember. If it gets any colder I might pull out a last minute jacket out of my wardrobe, but fingers crossed, the weather will get a little sunnier and I won’t have to! – Rx.

May 18, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Awfully grey
Mood: Lazy and a bit angry…

You know what really bugs me? How uncivilized we are in this country. I spend 10 days, 10 DAYS! in the US and I get back here and it’s as if I entered a parallel universe. People have no common curtsy, they drive like crazy people, it’s absolutely mad! MAD I TELL YOU!  I had to do a couple of things yesterday, buy a ribbon, pick my bf up from work, that sort ‘a thing and when I finally arrived, I wanted to scream! Everyone’s crazy, I swear you need to have lived here to know what I’m talking about but it’s got me in a terrible mood. But, it’s my country and I love it really… sort of… Anyway, moving on to happier thoughts, I’m wearing my new Aeropostale purple polo tee today, and it’s quite cold so I’ve paired it up with my caramel brown UGG Australia boots and a gray cardigan. Actually, to be quite honest, I don’t really think the boots go quite well, let me just change that… Hold on... Much better. Now I’m wearing my Bearpaw white furry boots. I wasn’t complete sure if I’d done a huge mistake when I bought them because it was a little out of impulse. I was staying at my friend’s house in Uxbridge, London a couple of years ago, and I was browsing Amazon.uk when I saw them. Right then and there I fell in love with them but they were pretty expensive, (specially thinking in pounds which at the time was almost 4 times the Colombian currency) so it let it go. But then I told my friend about them and she said, “well why don’t you try EBay?” –“What?” I thought? I had never bought anything from EBay before – and I haven’t since for some reason – so, I did. I mean, what was there to lose. SO I checked, and sure enough, THERE THEY WERE! And for only £10!! So yes, I bought them. I mean only 10 pounds…? But that was the London craze. When I got back home, however, I was a bit dubious about my purchase. You see, part of what influences fashion is where you live. It’s quite different what you’d wear in NYC than in the middle of some God forgotten town in Texas right? (No offence to Texas.) Apart from the climate difference, imagine for one second the weather and the climate was exactly the same, still people wouldn’t be caught dead in the middle on winter in Texas wearing a fur coat with hot pants and I sequel tank underneath right? But in NYC that’s perfectly normal.  Same here; what you wear in London, well, who cares, it’s one of the world’s fashion capitals. But in Bogota, well, there are certain fashion “restrictions” due to how are society was brought up and built and I wasn’t sure what people might think about my furry boots. But then I thought “why should I care? I am a free individual person entitled to my own opinion and my own fashion sense and I can wear whatever the hell I want!” So I wear my furry boots proudly, and who cares if I get a weird look down the street from time to time? It’s not like I approve of the 3 sizes too small dresses and jeans and very, very, very, ridiculously high heels girls wear here to go out… so there! –Rx.

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Sunny? yay!!
Mood: Thrilled

OMG they're here! My beautiful DSW military, navy blue, suede, lace-up boots ARE HERE!!! I can't believe it, and they're sooo gorgeous! I am so wearing them today. So, to go with my booties I'm also wearing my new navy blue and red tripped dress from Forever 21 and my beloved blue military jacket to go with the boots. I am so thrilled! I'm going to look gorgeous, because I feel gorgeous and nothing can take that away from me. It's like the stars have lined up in my favor, everything in my life is absolutely perfect. And speaking of stars, did you know the Victoria Secret Pink page has its own horoscope? What a load of rubbish if you ask me. I'm Scorpio, btw, and listen to this: "School's out, but you have a hard time unwinding and adjusting to the change. Use the first half of May to clean, purge and organize your stuff. You feel much more in control when everything's in its place! While you're at it, swap the cramming-for-finals pizza deliveries for organic produce and healthy, energizing summer fare. Exercise will boost endorphins and bring back your glow. Watch a tendency to overanalyze this summer, or to communicate in an abrupt manner when you don't get your way. People don’t like to feel pressured, so give them time to consider your proposals. Love turns serious after May 15 and sizzles throughout the summer. Memorial Day could make a budding relationship official, since several planets visit the romantic zones of your chart. At the May 17 Scorpio full moon, a project you started near your last birthday comes together nicely. Finish and celebrate this triumph!"* For starters it sounds like if it was written for 14 year olds. Second, "school's out?" We're in the middle of May!!!! And "several planets visit the romantic zones of your chart"? Could they be any more God damn spastic??? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE VS, if I could live in a shop I would definitely live in VS. It’s so glamorous and shiny and pink. But honestly, who writes these things? I did like the bit about the exercise giving you endorphins though - it reminds me about a line from my favorite movie plus it reminds me I have to go back to the gym. But that’ll have to wait for my bf to find time to go with me; he’s really busy you know? Speaking of him, I just remembered I never told you if he did win my huge prize at Universal for me, which btw he did, a HUGE Rottweiler which I could just about carry to the parking lot, but I was so proud, everybody pointed, stared, smiled and even got close for a better look and to drop in a comment. It was pretty cool. ;) Anyway, I better take a shower, I have a lot or reading to do and I can’t stay in my pj’s all day… And besides, I want to wear my new boots! -Rx

May 16, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy but fortunately, not raining
Mood: I feel like someone's hit the snooze button...

I am seriously not in a bloggin' mood today. Actually, I'm not in a mood for anything except, sleep maybe? I'm so sleepy! I woke up really early and I went to bed really late last night ever since I developed this absurd need to unpack as soon as I get home no matter the time of day or number of hours I've been awake. So there I was well past midnight, unpacking and then, when everything was out of the suitcases, I got sleepy. I mean it's normal, right? After such a long trip and all... Well I thought it was gonna be really hard to get up today, but then again I was wrong, I woke up really early this morning, say 7AM really excited to show mum and dad what I bought and give them a couple of things I brought for them and... Organize my room? OMG what happened last night? Well, it took me several hours, two bags of stuff I decided to chuck as I was already going to organize my stuff in places where they don't even fit, I was going to have to de-clutter. So I did, and I was on a high and nothing could stop me. But now I'm done, and I've had a shower and had some lunch, and I am totally knackered. I didn't even feel like getting dressed so I put on yesterday's jeans and a gray tee I bought at F21 and socks. Pink socks to keep my feet warm. I'm not planning on going anywhere today, but if I should leave the house, then a pink cardi and gray boots sounds about right. As for a handbag, my new Coach, obviously!! -Rx.

May 15, 2011

Location: Orlando, FL
Weather: too hot!
Mood: OMG WHAT THE F**K AM I GOING TO DO?!?!

OK. Don't panic. That's the key to success, right? But then, where the f**k am I going to fit all this stuff in? I'm allowed one lousy suitcase, remember? Plus, I do have an extra suitcase which my aunt paid for because she wanted me to buy her a suitcase that came with carry-on and then I had my previous suitcase, the one I traveled here with so that gives me 3 suitcase space... and there's stuff everywhere! I feel like a bomb exploded in here. I swear I didn't have this much stuff when i woke up this morning. Ok, let the packing begin! (Time: 9:07AM)
Now: 12:03. I am a packing genius! No seriously, I managed to get everything heavy into one and a half suitcases (my second one is quite small, hence the half) and my carry-on is still half empty! I am such a genius! Seriously, I could get a job as a professional packer or something. And no, I didn't forget to leave my clothes that I’m actually wearing today aside (so it's happened before, big deal, we all make mistakes)... I am so proud of myself. I still have to finish a couple of homework things and make sure I didn't leave anything behind, and have lunch. But we've got time, our plane doesn't leave 'till 6pm. Remember how I told you you should always have a traveling outfit and wear it going and coming back? Well... It’s just that I bought these really amazing jeans t Hollister and this adorable "peasant shirt" at American Eagle and I just couldn't resist wearing them today instead of what I was wearing the day we came... Plus I bought the cutest white booties in F21, remember I told you about them? And well, who cares about the traveling outfit rubbish anyway. I look much better like this. So, time to do everything else I have to do before my plane leaves us. See you at home! -Rx.

May 14, 2011

Location: Orlando, FL
Weather: As sunny as always
Mood: Confused

I seriously don't know what to wear. Right this instant I haven't even picked out anything yet, and I have to before I post this, and I have to post this soon because we're going to have breakfast at IHOP!!! What is it about pancakes that make them so incredibly irresistible? They're so soft and spongy and yummyyyy.... mmm... Today I'm totally giving in on the indulgence... Lots of maple syrup and cream and blueberry sauce... I can't wait!!! And ok, so technically, TECHNICALLY we already went this trip... The day we went to Universal, but that's really beside the point. The point is, WE'RE GOING TODAY TOO! That being said, I need lose-ish clothes in order to fit in all the pancakes without my buttons popping out... What to wear, what to wear? I'm not even sure what we're doing after... We could always go to Hollywood Studios again and watch the Beauty and the Beast show and ride 1000 times more on the Hollywood Tower of Terror muahahahaha.... But then, that's about all there is to do there. Or we could go to Magic Kingdom and spend the day "warm in the sun" with Donald and the princesses and Space Mountain and.... OR we could finish Universal Studios and ride on the Harry Potter ride again (which I love btw) and on the Popeye water rides, and Hulk and Dr. Dooms fear fall, which is almost as exciting as the tower of terror except they shoot ou upwards really unexpectedly and you blast into the sky and it's really fun, but then there's no spooky haunted hotel mood, and it's out in the daylight and not in the dark (which of course is much scarier, the dark I mean, don't get confused) and Dr. Doom doesn't have a ghost story to it and... mah... So it’s not nearly as cool as the HTT but you know what I mean... All in all, universal is great fun, but I'm more of a classics fan, I prefer Disney. Also, they close Universal Early so we could go to Magic Kingdom after and watch the fireworks... But then there are always the roaring crowds on the way out... I don't know where I want to go or what to wear!!!! Ugh it's so confusing... Plus today being the last day f the trip I'm kinda running out of options... So that makes it all the much harder to choose clothes. I could wear my black shorts, with a pink tank and my zebra espadrilles..? Hmmm, I like the sound of that... Let’s see... BRB. I like it. Perfect. I'm such a genius. You might think "ah, what's to it, it's just clothes..." but it is NOT... It is a very important decision influenced by my mood and the weather, of course, and what I'll be doing and a lot of other factors... which I intend to find, and that's the whole point of this blog. So yes, putting together an outfit isn't just about pulling on the first thing I see in the mornings... I can just walk out of my house looking like a crazy person (although sometimes I do...) But not today, I'm all dressed and ready to start the day. Pancakes: BRING IT ON! -Rx.

May 13, 2011

Location: Orlando, FL
Weather: Nice n' sunny
Mood: So happy!!! I LOVE THIS CITY!!!!!!!!!

Uuuu Friday the 13th... I'm easily spooked, but I'm not superstitious unfortunately... It would make this blog entry a lot more interesting for those of you who are... Besides, for me, Friday the 13th is a very weird not so scary, but grouse, scary movie. So, maybe it is like 5:30 in the afternoon but my bf had to get up and work early so he took over the computer and I... well, I went shopping. I had to go get some stuff for my parents, and go to the outlets to see if I could find my bf's jeans - he only wears Levi's 505 Regular Fit and they've changed them to something called Straight Fit which apparently he doesn't like and we've searched EVERYWHERE so I went to the outlets and the nice lady from Levi's told me to talk to the manager and he in turn promised me they were the exact same jeans with different name but I couldn't just go ahead and buy them without my bf's approval right? I mean he has to try them on, what if he doesn't like them? - So yes, I had to go to the outlets, it's not like if I had a choice in the matter... And while I was there I took a look around, I mean if I was already there I might as well... And then I went into Coach, just to see what was new... and there were the most amazing handbags and wallets and I just couldn't resist an adorable Poppy handbag - grayish silver with purple outline and 3 medium hearts to one side with Poppy Coach printed all over... Adorable! Then I went to the Mall of Millenia to get lunch 'cos my poor bf must be at home starvin' and I popped by F21 and bought a couple of things, nothing much, oh and a pair of divine white booties... Not like white leather cowgirl white, just, cream-ish white... and tights... and then I came home and now we have to go all the way back to the outlets so my dear, dear bf can try  on the jeans (I insisted)... So for all this hazel and tassel I pulled on my combat denim short and a white tank and flip-flops. I had a lot to do and being comfy was very important. Plus who doesn't love Old Navy $1 flip-flops, right? - Rx.

May 12, 2011

Location: Orlando, FL
Weather: Not as sunny as it should be...yet
Mood: As happy as happy gets

You know, you don't have to do loads of stuff to be happy. Yesterday we didm't do much... Slept in, had lunch at 5 in the afternoon, went for a bit of shopping... And then we had planned to go to Hollywood Studios to see the fireworks show but for some reason it wasn't showing when it said it was, so, we ended up going to the cinema instead... To see... SCREAM 4! Same old, same old... But I just love the scream movies, they give me such a thrill. They're exactly the perfect amount of scary I can handdle without actually having a heart attack. Plus it was quite funny. You should see it. Today: Epcot. I know there aren't any super exciting rides in Epcot or anything but it's still quite fun. Walking around the world, country by country, and the food's lovely, and all the different shops and hats and ... I don't know I just think it's really fun. And then there's the test drive ride which is fun, and the lion king show... I'm in for a day of sun in the sun (if it comes out properly, it's kind'a cloudy... Still, it's very, very hot out so I'm wearing my new F21 Hello Kitty tank and my stripy shorts, and yes... trainers, with stupid socks so I don't lose half my feet on the way. You know, I've never been a huge Hello Kitty fan... I actually don't even like her very much, she's a weird cat with a bow. But, this one's wearing cute heart-shaped sunglasses, so that caught my eye. Plus it's perfect for this weather, and for getting wet in the water rides if we decide to go to Magic Kingdom again after and maybe pop by Slash Mountain, and Space Mountain and then watch the fireworks again... We just can't get enough!! -Rx.

Location: Orlando, FL
Waether: HOT, HOT, HOT!!!
Mood: Rested and happy

Ok so technically we were supposed to go to Tampa this morning, but honestly, it takes A LOT  of stamina to run around every dy from park to park in the burning sun... So by yesterday mid-day we were totally puffed out... And I had a reheated mini-breakdown... So instead of spending the hole day at Universal we came home and spend a lovely afternoon in the beach where I got a tan and we dueled over who could knot the other one off an oversized inflatable animal while not falling off and drowning... And then in the evening we went to the cinema and dinner as planned. Great day, Then today we kind'a overslept so we';re just now leaving the hose (and my bfs waiting so I really have to go) but I couldn't jsut eave my blog unattended, now could I?? No... Today we're going shoping for party essentials for my bf's neice, and shoes... So I'm weaing my blue and green stripe rumper from F21 and my mint colored shoes! Shos, here we come!!! -Rx.

PS: big S: Sorry So Short!!!

May 10, 2011

Location: Orlando, FL
Weather: HOT!
Mood: much better

Yesterday was one of the most amazing days ever. I don't onyl love Magic Kingdom, I love it with my bf. It was so sweet how he tool pictures with me and all the Disney princesses, and how we rode on everything (except the teacups, I was in no mood for teacups) and then at night we watched the fireworks right up front by the castle... It was pretty amazing. By the end of it I was exausted and I fell asleep in the car, but it was really really a great day. It was all so romantic and magical... Nothing beats Magic Kingdom, I'll give you that... Today however, we're giving Disney a break and we're off to Universal Studios. Last time we were here my bf won me a HUMONGOUS stuffed bird which I had to leave behind because it practically took up an extra seat on the plane, but now... well now that he has a house in Orlando e can win me a HUGE price again and I can just leave it here :D Of course I don't want a giant bird this time... now I want a giant dog instead... I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow. For now, we need to get to the park. I'm wearing a tribal print skirt from Forever 21 which I bought on Saturday and a yellow tank so when we go on the Popeye water boat ride and I get all soaked up, I don't automatically enter the white, wet t-shirt contest, and of course, trainers... No Wore sandals for me, thank- you'p! Oh, and sunblock... lots and lots of sunblock... My shoulders are red enough! Sorry so short today, btw, I really gotta get going if I want my day's worth! Maybe we can go to Bubba Gump for dinner at the Universal City walk and then catch a movie... They say Water for Elepahnts s pretty good... We'll see... - Rx.

May 9, 2011

Location: Orlando, FL
Weather: Gorgeously sunny
Mood: Wohoo!!! ... or not

Oh my God I can't walk... I am never, never, NEVER, EVER wearing those stupid sandals EVER again... Maybe just like on an evening occasion where I don't have to walk much... Ok, so those sandals I wore yesterday weren't exactly the ones I had planned to bring... They weren't my super cumfy, walking-all-day sandls. Teeny, tiny minor misunderstanding and I ended up bringing the wrong ones... And now... I CAN'T WALK!!! I have these really annoying blisters in my feet which are killing me, and that certainly bust my mood... Still, never mind, I'm in Disney and I'm going to enjoy it. Plus, we're going to Magic Kingdom today! It's my favorite park you know? For starters, it brings back loads of fond memories about my chidlhood and my parents and grandparents and ... anyway. Second, it's just all so cut and pink and magical... Oh, and btw, I seriously think Mickey is over-rated... I much rather preffer the Disney Princesses. They're much nicer than a mouse in red shorts. Still, it's not as if I hate him or anything... Anyway, I'm off to see the princesses, the wonderful princesses of Disney... la, la, la... I really should go more dresses like a princess, but the truth... I'm not n a very princessy mood. For starters it's really early because I really want to go to Target before we hit the parks and I want to spend the whoooole day at Magic Kingdom so, I haad to get up extra early... Secondly, I still have a runny nose from that cold I had last week so that doen't help my mood either... and then there's the blisters... So instead of wearing a beautiful pink dress or a really cute skirt, I'm wearing stripy denim shorts and a two-sizes too big white tank top... And trainers... With socks... Like any other tourist... Still, Disney is all tourists, I don't know why I'm so bothered to blend in... I hope my mood gets better once I see Cinderella's castle... And then tonight there's all the fireworks... hmmm... I'm feeling better already... -Rx.

Location: Orlando, FL
Weather: Sunny
Mood: OMG I'M IN DISNEY!!

Good morning people and a very happy mother's day to  my mum and all the lovely mothers out there. I hope you have a wonderful day. I know I will because I'm going to MGM Hollywood Studios today. most people think it's the lamest park of all, but it has the amazing Aerosmith rollecoster and dum dum duuum... THE HOLLYWOOD TOWER OF TERROR! - My all time favorite ride EVER!!!! I love the settings and the whole spookie hotel mood with the story and the btlers and all... I wish someone would recreate the hotel and make it a real hotel but set back in the 1920s. It would be so cool and I would totally stay there at least once a year. Yestesterday we went shopping as I told you and I went into a shop or two and bought really cute things in Forever 21 and Old navy and Hollister.... God bless the United States of America and their wonderful shops and excellent prices :) For today's adventure I'm wearing my pink maxi skirt from F21 and a black top with brown gladiator sandals. They're great for walking and very stylish!! All set and ready to go! Have a great mother's day! - Rx.

Location: Orlando, FL
Weather: Gorgeous and Sunny
Mood: Couldn't be happier

Good morning from the sunny city of Orlando. Yesterday was a pretty good day considering apart from planes, I also hate airports... No queues what so ever, no being put in the little glass room at immigration (long story), we got the car really quickly – which btw we got to upgrade for a really good price for a small SUV so we got a Ford Escape – then we got our luggage really quickly and drove happily home. We’re staying at my bf’s now summer house in Orlando which neither of us had had the pleasure to see until yesterday and let me tell you, it’s amazing!! It’s really big and beautiful… I could definitely live here. Anyway, we went food shopping and I have to admit, I love Publix. It’s so cool and everything it so shiny and pretty. All in all it was a pretty good day. And, when I woke up today I couldn’t quite believe we were here! I’M IN ORLANDO. We have a lot of shopping to do. For starters, B (that’s what I call my bf just so you know) needs to buy a new PC. I’m on an old laptop so excuse my blog picture being as little weird in color… We also need to look at desks, and there’s this amazing one day sale at Macy’s… And anyway, I’m wearing black H&M shorts with a green tank top and my zebra print canvas, perfect for walking. I’m also taking my CH backpack with me so I can take snacks and stuff if we get hungry later. So, I hope you all enjoy your day, and I know I’ll certainly enjoy mine! Did you know I’m 306 months old today? Happy too many months to me!!! – Rx.

Location: Bogota: Colombia
Weather: Couldn't tell 'ya, it's very dark out
Mood: I can't even begin to describe how happy I am

Good morning fellow readers, I hope you all had a pleasant night's sleep. I know I didn't. I was way too excited for sleeping. I woke up at 5AM sharp (and at 4AM, 3AM, 2AM...) and jumped out of bed and into the shower. There's a lot to do for a woman on the day of the trip. First of all, you have to decide what you're going to wear. This is of the upmost importance because you must travel comfortably but in style. Comfortable does NOT mean arrive at the airport in your PJs. I've learned a valuable lesson in life:  even though the saying goes “don’t judge a book by its cover,” most people often do. I mean who would you take more serious if you had to meet people all day, someone who looked like the just got out of bed and smell funny… or someone nicely groomed and pleasant to the eye? I know who I’d choose. And that’s the world for ‘ya, so always when traveling try and look nice. I’m sure if they were going to bunk someone to first class, they would definitely pick the groomed person. So, I picked out a black, very light cotton jumpsuit with my coach trainers and my denim jacket to keep warm while we actually get to Orlando (remember to freezing cold air conditioning on the plane? Remember my cold? Yeah, not good…) I usually travel with a handbag but I also end up carrying a bunch of stuff I don’t really need on the plane, just in case, so when I get to my destination, I’ve lost one of my shoulders. I recently bought, however, the cutest Carolina Herrera backpack so I’m taking that instead. Very chic and confortable. A piece of advice, you should always have a traveling trousseau. It saves time and effort. Trust me, I picked mine out about a week ago ;) Anyway, gotta run, or should I say, gotta fly? See you in Orlando!  - Rx.
