August 31, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy and cold
Mood: Bored with my hair "issue"

Another month come and gone... God time flies when you're having fun. And when you're not... They say it's an age issue, that the older you get, the faster time just swoops by... Which is crazy because I'm only... Well, I'm in my 20s. In the golden years, right? And still, I feel Christmas was like last week and before you know it, hey! It's Christmas, again, and again... and again? Anyway, I hadn't really psted my blog today because I was fairly more occupied with prior duties such as studying. That's right. Vacas over and I'm hitting the books, not literally (I'll break my hand...) yOU KNOW, i'VE BEEN REALLY DISTRACTED TODAY... excuse the block letter... I'm dazed off into a faraway land in my mind, like a swurling spirral which I have fallen into and has tranced me... permenantly.... -Rx.

August 30, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: SUNNY!
Mood: Annoyed yet very, very happy!

Yes! My fashion Bible is finally here! Tumbling yesterday out of the dark clouds of recession, unemployment and austerity came that gleaming almanac of glamour and self-indulgence, the September Issue of Vogue. I got my hands on the most important issue of the year - the fattest, the most profitable, the most influential - the fashion Bible. The most immediately striking thing about it is its opulence, page upon glossy page of advertisements for every expensive fashion house or jeweler you have ever heard of - so many that at least 100 pages go by before you arrive at the first bit of editorial copy. Luxury can be especially seductive in times like these, but Vogue, charmingly, has attempted to show sensitivity to the country's penitential mood. The trend this year is to be "minimal chic" - nothing fancy, just plain, clean-cut clothes full of understated elegance.  There is a new taste for old-fashioned coziness - sheepskin, log baskets, wooden basins, and anything furry or quilted. It's perfect for this horrid weather. In any case, that makes me extreemly happy. You know I've waited all year for this. So now that my wonderful magazine is here... what should I wear to honor Mrs. de Wintour? Nothing too dramatic, 'cos I'm kind of keeping a low profile these days (big hair issue this week)... And suddenly, inspiration is dawned upon me! I am such a genious! HA! I'm going houdstooth! Matching shoes, coat and handbag and I could totally be on the "pretty patterns" or the "Fair and Square" pieces in Vogue (articles are called pieces, btw.) So fab I need to hit the town, tummy ache, or no tummy ache! Turuluuu -Rx.

August 29, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: T'was sunny, now it's kinda cloudy... dunno
Mood: owww my tummy!!!

Ok, so most of you will probably agree I'm sharing a tad too much information, but the point of this blog is the why? when? where? not my social life - but as the two are obviously bonded, deal wwith it. It's that time of the month... again! and therefore I am in no mood for tight jeans that I can bearly sit in. I didn't blog yesterday not becuase of lack of time, which is my general excuse, but because I had a serious fashion fall-out (which btw ended up quite nicely, as it turns out.) Anyway, I wasn't aware of what was going to happen to my body today (get all bloated like a balloon) so I obviously didn't fit in my skinny red F21 jeans, and that made me through a huge tantrum (at my wardrobe, no one got hurt, I promise) and I ended up wearing a comfy skirt and of course, a white tee - so comforting it kills me... Anyway, I also wore my new YAY cowgirl boots which would have acredited an awsome blog entry but at the en of the day they made me very happy, which really, is the most important bit of all. Today started out normal, so I pulled out my comfy jeans, the first tee I could lay my hands on and since it was sunny and I had to do quite a bit of footing, my white semi-loafers which I adore and I don't wear much due to the rain (eww wet feet.) Ran my morning erands just fine, got home, had lunch, changed into sweatpants (I am in NO mood for leaving the comfort of my cozy home) and all is well (that and lots and lots of tea, and a hot water bottle, and my stuffed whale.) I've finished classes for the day do I'm hittling the sack (no, I'm not going to sleep) just watch some telly 'till B get's here. God my tummy hurts. Thank God for sweatpants, huh? -Rx.

What would happen if Blair Waldorf had been born Blair Smith and she hadn't been a NY Upper East Side fashionista? I'm pretty sure she would have still craved fashion, and she would still be aware of the latest fashion trends. She would even still wear couture. She just wouldn't wear $5000 dresses to take a troll in the park, or 10 inch stilletos to walk downtown, or be bffs with Anna Wintour. So I did a little social experiment, and I concluded if Blair Smith (N'ae Waldorf) was to get dressed this fine (ok not sooo fine, but whatever, it sounds better) morning, she would wear exactly this:
Jeans: Black
T-shirt: Royal blue v-neck
Cardi: Black wrap-around
and of course, once again... CHANEL. Thank you Coco. Rx.

PS. THIS BLOG IS DEDICATED TO MY BFF D, WHO BROUGHT ME TO LOVE GOSSIP GIRL AS MUCH AS I DO, AND WHOM WITH I USED TO WATCH IT EVERY SUNDAY MORNING WHILE WE PASSED OUT FROM THE EXTREME HANGOVER WITH ICE COLD COKE AND ACHING FEET. Miss u D, my very own Blair!!!

August 26, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Cloudy witha hint of sunshine
Mood: I'm better now...

So I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, literally, who cares? It's happened to all of us, one time or another. As the day goes by my mood gets better and better. For starters, I had a many-pedi, which according to Margo is the one thing that cheers girls up, no matter what. Second, I'm going out on a date tonight! And no, before you wonder, I have not broken up with B... Far from it. We're more in love than ever. Only that well you get into routine and you stop going out on dates. Well, tonight we're having a proper date. Technically he should be picking me up, but we're doing it the other way around for timing reasons. But we're going out for dinner and a movie which is FAB! So, I want to look fab. Adn the bottom line is always, ALWAYS Chanel. So I've paired it up with my gold ballet flats which I bought in London 10 years ago 'cos it was pouring rain and I got soked and I needed dry shoes in order to avoid pneumonia and whatever.... Those shoes, with my gold Vanessa Bruno sweather which I also bought in London aaages ago and my black leather jacket. You might wonder why today's blog picture is a little different. Well, I was thinking and in order for you to understand me and my sometimes bizzare fashion predicaments, I thought you should know me better. Me meee. What I like the most in different areas of life. I mean that also directs people's chosings fo fashion right? So here's to me, and my likes. :) -Rx.

August 25, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: Sunny, yay!
Mood: Happy yet disappointed

Some very lucky sod won the national lotery last night. I hope he/she wasn't 90 years old and din't die of a stroke like poor old Ned Devine. That would be most unfortunate. So that's a bummer. Anyway, it's ok, it just wan't my time to win. But I will, one day... I hope. Anyway, moving to greener pastures, my green trouseres were quite the sensation yesterday, and although I'm feeling far less bitchy today, I'm still in a high mood for fashion. But what to wear? The eternal question, right? Well, today I'm ina "let's go to the country club, daaarling..." mood, so I picked out a purple polo shirt (I totally have to by more at Aeropostale, it fits really well) and a little urban touch, mu purple $5 flats!! You didn't rhink I'd forgotten them, did you? So chic. LAt time I wore this polo shirt I wore it with grey... But I'm not in a very grey mood, really... Black? I wore black yesterday. hmmm... Duuh I'm such a dummy! Obviously my Coach handbag (the colorful one, not to gloat but I do have two, don't I... hehehe). As war as this blog goes, I'm ready to mambo! Although... I have to confess, I did kind of had an outfit plan for today, which I didn't get to wear because I had a missing link... I wanted really badly to wear my black and white Oxfords which mum bought for me, but I couldn't because my brilliant outfit included black opaque tights of which I have non because they ripped and... Anyway, I'll get a pair today, I hope, so my plan will be complete! Muahaha... hehehehe... SOrry. I really don't know what's gotten into me... -Rx.

August 24, 2011

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Weather: CLoudy, hopefully not rainy
Mood: Totally GG

OMG I'm in a total Gossip Girl cast mood today. No idea why but I feel super fashion. Kind of like Serena but without the mole and the minidress. You know, a wise woman once said that every morning when you wake up you say a little prayer. After all, you never know what your day may hold. Well, remember how I told you about my package from DSW being sent back to Ohio and that it would be sent back to me imidiately? Well, wrong answer girls, turns out one they get the package back, they'll give me a full refund and my order will be lost for ever. Well, wrong again, becuase when my package contains the anniversary edition of the DSW handbag (only 50 were made), I'm getting what I paid for. So I spent for ever calling here and there until I fibnally convinced the girl on the other side of the phone, I had to get my handbag. So the shoes won't be returned, who cares, I can always get another pair later. But my precious handbag, is well on it's way home to mamma. And I know I suold like a total selfish - rhymes with witch- but I'm getting what I wanted to beggin with and which is rightfully mine - it's called perseverance. Keep up with the progam! (I learned it from my mum, btw). And FYI, green pants are not emo when you pair them up with a gorgeous pair of strappy pumps and an oversized black handbag. So like I mentiones before on my neon entry, don't be afraid of color; it's not afraid of you. -Rx.
